PDX Startup Weekend Latino is happy to announce that TiE Oregon will be a Sponsor. TiE Oregon‘s commitment to the Portland startup community has been instrumental to the success of entrepreneurs in the region and their sponsorship of #PDXSWLatino will benefit the participants of the upcoming Spring 2013 event on April 26.
TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs and business leaders who were interested in giving back to the startup community. With 61 Chapters in 17 countries, TiE’s global mission is to provide a platform for entrepreneurs and those interested in economic value creation to come together to share ideas.
The Oregon chapter was launched in 2007. Since then, TiE Oregon has a number of accomplishments to its credit and many startup success stories. TiE facilitated funding for the companies of several members including Zapproved, Cloudability, Athletepath, Geoloqi, GlobeSherpa and Chirpify.
Mentorship is a big focus of TiE. Charter Members have been very active in mentoring entrepreneurs through idea formation, launch and funding. TiE Oregon mentors are extremely active in the startup scene in Portland and get an early look at many companies. In addition, TiE Oregon facilitates angel investments through TiE Angels Oregon.
We offer our sincerest appreciation to the TiE Oregon branch for their commitment to making the #PDXSWLatino a success.
