Is YOUR Team Ready for Portland NEXT?

by

Startup Weekend NEXTNow that you’ve experienced PDXSW, are you ready to push your startup idea and team further? See where you could really go? If you are, we have a new challenge for you: Portland NEXT.

But it’s not for the fair-weathered. Portland NEXT is about going for it! This intense 3-week program combines the forces of Startup Weekend, Steve Blank, Udacity, TechStars and Startup America to bring you some of the world’s most effective entrepreneurial education.

NEXT is based on Steve Blank’s Lean Launchpad curriculum (as taught at Stanford, Berkeley, Columbia, Udacity), customized into an intensive in-person, mentor-driven follow-on course to Startup Weekend. By design, it will simulate real-world startup pressures that might blow your team up — OR, that will “irritate into action” (as Steve Blank puts it!). Facilitators, coaches and mentors will always be polite — while maintaining the same spirit and community of Startup Weekend — but are committed to driving teams to the edge as they teach Lean Launchpad approaches.

As an entrepreneur, is a NEXT program right for you?

Check out what Eric Koester, Founder of Zaarly, Startup Weekend Alumni & NEXT Facilitator has to say about how NEXT can help your startup build its team, figure out what the business is going to be, and plug into startup ecosystem communities that can boost success potential (1 min. video).

Classes meet formally 6 times. But no talking heads! NEXT’s style is “flipped classroom” learning. Teams are expected to watch lectures and complete real-world assignments between classes. Class time is devoted to facilitator-driven sharing of findings, questioning results, and challenging each other.
